Work started in November 2013, so hopefully by the New Year the newly surfaced and widened path between the Pavilion and the bridge near the underpass (a distance of one kilometre), should be finished – complete with widened entrances from Green Farm, new bench seats and sign posts.

This £11,000 scheme has been made possible by funding secured by the Friends of Holmebrook Valley Park from Viridor Environmental Credits (Land Fill Tax), Derbyshire County Council and Chesterfield Borough Council.

The New Path was officially opened by the Mayor of Chesterfield, Councillor Alexis Diouf on 12th November 2014.

The whole length of the path has now been covered with the new chippings and is now being rolled to compact the surface.
